The imprint of the late Anne M. Garrott, president emerita of the SWBCA Board, as a bridge from those founding women in 1870 through the end of the 20th century is evident. She was the driving force behind the continuity of the core programs of leadership development for women and youth over the years as well as conceiving and organizing a Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame that recognized outstanding Black women from the local community. This current celebration of African American history continues and combines concern for our past and an element of our vision statement to support social, educational and entertainment events for organizations and families.
